How the daily challenge works

Three no-guess boards a day: one each for Beginner, Intermediate and Expert, the same for everyone. Each gets one scored attempt. New boards arrive at midnight UTC.

There’s no download and no sign-up, and your streak is kept on your own device.

Every board is generated from the date, so everyone in the world plays the identical grids for a given day. That makes times directly comparable. The leaderboard is a fair race on one shared puzzle.

Each board has a free move: a pulsing tile marked with a green × that’s guaranteed safe and opens up part of the board. Start there and you can never lose your daily attempt, or your streak, to a blind first click. Consider it a welcome gift.

Every board is also no-guess. Before a board goes live, a solver checks that it can be cleared from the start tile by logic alone, using the mine counter near the end if needed.

If it can’t, the board is thrown out and the next one from that day’s seed is checked. A run never ends on a coin flip, so the fastest time on the leaderboard is the best solve.

You get one scored attempt per difficulty each day. Solve it and you can post your time to that day’s leaderboard, under a name or as anonymous.

Your first attempt is the one that counts. Hit a mine and you can replay the board for practice, but not for a score. The mines don’t do take-backs.

Classic mode stays open for unlimited practice. Your streak is kept in this browser, with no account and no personal information.

Yes. No download and no account. The daily challenge is completely free.

What time does the board reset?

Midnight UTC, every day. A new board appears for each difficulty at the same moment worldwide.
