About RetroSweep
Classic Minesweeper in your browser. It’s free, with no sign-up and nothing to download. Play Beginner, Intermediate or Expert, build a custom board, or take on the daily challenge: three no-guess boards a day, the same for everyone. Your first dig in Classic is always safe. After that, it’s between you and the mines.
Once you’ve flagged as many of a number’s neighbors as the number says are mines, click the number. Its remaining neighbors open at once. It’s the fastest way to clear a solved area, especially on bigger boards.
Tap to dig. Use the Dig/Flag switch or a long-press to flag. On small screens, bigger boards pan and zoom inside the window. Drag to move around, pinch or use + and − to zoom, and tap FIT to see the whole board.
One board per difficulty each day, the same for everyone and solvable without guessing. You get one scored attempt. It resets at midnight UTC.
Yes. Alongside the Beginner, Intermediate and Expert presets, the Custom option lets you set a Minesweeper custom board size. Choose your own width, height and number of mines.
No. Every daily board is no-guess. From the marked start tile, you can clear the whole board by logic alone, using the mine counter near the end if needed. You’ll never be stuck on a 50/50. Classic boards are random like the original game, so they can still need a guess.
On this device. Your streak, daily history and best times stay in your browser’s local storage. A random ID in a cookie keeps you to one scored attempt per board. There’s no account. A time goes on the public leaderboard only when you post it, under the name you type. The privacy page has the details.
Not if you don’t want to. In Classic, your first dig is always safe. Daily boards are the same for everyone, so each one marks a safe starting tile with a green ×. Start there and the board opens up.
Yes. RetroSweep is completely free to play online, with no payment and no account. The mines work for free.
No. This is Minesweeper with no download. It runs entirely in your web browser, so there’s nothing to install and no sign-up.
